ACCU THERMO – Hierarchy and Key Differences

Model Role in System Capacity Energy Max Depth Construction Ideal For
ACCU THERMO 14 Compact Power Source 13.4 Ah 161 Wh 150 m ALU + POM C Tech divers needing heating + light in a lighter config
ACCU THERMO 24 Primary Power Source 23.45 Ah 281 Wh 100 m ALU + POM C Long, cold tech dives, expeditions, max operating time
ACCU THERMO 24 SPECIAL Reinforced Version 23.45 Ah 281 Wh 200 m Full Aluminum Alloy The most demanding technical and deep dives

Note: TYPE 24 SPECIAL is not higher-capacity than TYPE 24 — it is reinforced for greater depth.

How to choose the right ACCU THERMO for your needs

Selecting the ideal power source is a balance between the required heating time, the complexity of your lighting system, and your depth requirements. Use the guidelines below to match a model to your diving profile.

1. Capacity vs. Dive Duration

  • ACCU THERMO 14 (161 Wh): Best for divers who need a lightweight, streamlined setup for standard technical dives. It is optimized for powering a heated vest or gloves for up to 200-270 minutes, depending on the heat setting.

  • ACCU THERMO 24 & 24 SPECIAL (281 Wh): Designed for long-duration missions, cold-water expeditions, and extensive decompression stages. With nearly double the energy of the Type 14, these models ensure your heating system remains active throughout the most demanding dives.

2. Application & Depth

  • The Agile Explorer (100 m – 150 m): If your primary goal is to maintain a perfect trim and minimize gear weight during travel, the TYPE 14 or TYPE 24 (Aluminum + POM C construction) are the ideal choices.

  • The Extreme Explorer (200 m): For those pushing the limits of deep-water exploration or diving in high-impact environments like tight wrecks and caves, the TYPE 24 SPECIAL is the only choice. Its full aluminum body is specifically reinforced to withstand extreme pressures and mechanical damage.

3. Powering Your System

All ACCU THERMO units are versatile dual-purpose tools. They are equipped with two independent ports:

  • E/O Cord: Dedicated to your heating system (vest, gloves, or undersuit).

  • Standard Port: Used for charging the battery or connecting your 12V umbilical light head.

4. Summary for Decision Making

  • Choose ACCU THERMO 14 if: You value a compact form factor and your dives typically do not exceed 3–4 hours of heating needs.

  • Choose ACCU THERMO 24 if: You require maximum burn times for exploration and decompression, but dive primarily within the 100 m range.

  • Choose ACCU THERMO 24 SPECIAL if: You need maximum capacity combined with the highest level of structural integrity for dives down to 200 m.
